Cozy (Lisa Bowman), a dissatisfied housewife, longs for an adventure in a run-down small town outside Miami. One night, she meets Lee Ray (Larry Fessenden) at a nearby bar, an equally disaffected handyman who’s never left home. As sparks fly between them, a gun accidentally goes off. Thinking they have committed murder, the pair decide to flee, but their naive natures and limited bank balances mean they don’t get very far. From the outset, Reichardt showcases her quiet observational power within everyday frustrations. This release comes with a gamut of features, including audio commentary by Kelly Reichardt and Larry Fessenden, an interview with critic and curator So Mayer, a visual essay by Anton Bitel on actor/producer Larry Fessenden, ‘drive-by’ outtakes, and a featurette on Oscilloscope Laboratories’ 2K Restoration.
