Starring French film icon Françoise Fabian, Rose centers on the titular Rose, a 78-year-old woman who has just lost her adored husband of over 50 years. When her grief gives way to a powerful impulse to live, Rose discovers herself. Having been defined by her decades-long marriage, her role as a mother, and her adherence to Jewish tradition, she finds herself faced with options and challenges that would never have occurred to her earlier in life.

Realizing that she can still redefine her life even while approaching 80, Rose recognizes that she is not just a mother, a grandmother, and a widow but also a woman. Though the whole balance of her family is upset, Rose knows that her resurrection will only last for a short while, and she decides to take advantage of her new life and escape from her grief and problems while she still has the chance. A beautiful, comedic film about a woman whose sensuality and good humor will make you want to take a big bite out of life, Rose is the heartwarming story of one woman’s intimate revolution.
