Part psychological thriller, part dark comedy, The Rebrand takes aim at influencer culture, performative authenticity, and the unsettling consequences of people-pleasing.
The story follows Nicole, an eight-months-pregnant videographer who is hired to document the comeback of two canceled lifestyle influencers, only to discover that their carefully curated image masks something far more sinister.
Beneath its horror-comedy premise, the film explores a surprisingly universal fear: the inability to say no. Through Nicole’s increasingly unsettling experience, The Rebrand examines over-accommodation, blurred boundaries, and the dangers of staying in situations long after every instinct tells you to leave.
Featuring an all-queer cast and crew, the film also offers a fresh and subversive take on LGBTQIA+ representation, using satire and suspense to explore questions of authenticity, exploitation, and who controls the narrative in an age of personal branding.
With influencer culture continuing to dominate conversations about identity, image, and accountability, The Rebrand offers a timely and provocative lens for examining these themes.
